Malaysian Students Department, Washington, DC was established in 1972, under the patronage of the Embassy of Malaysia. In 1982, two new offices were opened up in Los Angeles and Chicago respectively. MSD, WDC is headed by a Director and supported by two Education Attache’, an Assistant Accountant and supported by 4 locally recruited staffs.

Malaysian Students Department, WDC is responsible for the welfare and academic matters of Malaysian students in 27 states in the Eastern Region of the United States as follows:-

i.

New England States: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont

ii.

New Atlantic States: New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania

iii.

Southern States: Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia

iv.

Mid Western State: Ohio

vii.

Caribbean Islands: West Indies
